Established in 2005, AB offers home healthcare services within the metropolitan Istanbul area. AB obtained its official license from the Ministry of Health in 2006 and is one of the few licensed companies in Turkey.  Services for individual patients include:

• Visits and 12/24 hour shifts of skilled nurses and care aides
• House visits of general practitioners and specialist doctors
• Elder companionship at Home
• Rehabilitation at Home (Physiotherapist, Psychotherapist, Dietician)
• Diagnosis at Home (All Laboratory Services, X-ray, Ultrasonography, EKG)
• Sales and rental of medical equipment and supplies

AB is mostly servicing patients who suffer from chronic diseases (cancer, COPD, CHF, alzheimer's, etc.) and need nurse visits or continuous care of a care aide or a nurse. The company also assists people who got discharged from hospital and need certain treatments (IV injection, wound care, oxygen therapy, etc.) at home.

AB also provides staffing services to hospitals and other medical establishments, co-operates with pharmaceutical companies in disease management programs and works with private insurance companies in several preventive medicine projects.

AB wants to meet with:

remote monitoring/telemedicine/telehealth equipment producers and service providers who use such technology to complement their services in home care/elderly care/long term care fields.

AB is specifically interested in meeting with the following providers/suppliers: 

• Personal emergency response system (or community alarm) manufacturers
• Home care service providers who offer community alarm as part of their service offerings
• Call center companies which are established to respond to community alarms
• Remote monitoring equipment manufacturers who command a unique technology

AB is also interested in partnerships, collaborations, licensing or distributorship agreements with UK remote monitoring/telemedicine/telehealth equipment producers and service providers.

AB’s buying timescale is longer term (12 months + ).

Birim’s expertise in Healthcare Informatics and Electronic Health Record systems is now being applied to homecare informatics.

In addition to being a member of the EU JADE project with its focus on healthy ageing, Birim is now seeking new partnerships and services for Homecare, m-health and telehealth projects in Turkey, Europe and Middle East with a view to leveraging collective current connections and know-how.
